I love teaching here at the Jackson School!
I began here in 2007 as an Integrated Preschool Teacher. It was wonderful to work with all of the students as they began their academic careers and slowly were introduced to the school environment.
After 4 years, I moved to 1st grade and I really enjoyed the new curriculum and seeing the students grow so much as readers and writers.
I am currently the Student Support Specialist. After working in both schools for two years I am now exclusively working at the Jackson School.
My teaching philosophy focuses on developing a relationship with each child in order to gain a deeper understanding of their strengths and needs, both emotionally and academically. I understand that children need to feel they are working in an environment that is supportive and welcomes risk-taking as a way to expand their current thinking.
My educational background is as follows:
Undergraduate degree from Lesley University with a Major in Human Development and a Minor in Early Childhood Education
Master's Degree from Bridgewater State University in Reading with a certification as a Reading Specialist K-12
Behavioral Support Specialist certification from Behavioral Support Specialists LLC via the University of Arizona
School Climate and Social Emotional Learning certification from William James College
My past teaching experiences also include working in Special Education for a collaborative with a variety of students in grades K-5
