• About Mrs. Nunez
     
       I am excited to be entering into my eighth year teaching in Plainville and my first at the Jackson School in Grade 3. Teaching is a true passion for me, and as a lifelong learner and student, I am full of excitement in anticipation of joining my students on journeys of learning and self-discovery. 
     
       My academic background is a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Psychology and Spanish, from Loyola University New Orleans. Although I considered a career in psychology, I soon realized that my heart was in the classroom--my years of tutoring children privately, as well as time spent visiting my mother's elementary classroom, told me that teaching was the career path for me. I received a Masters degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. Upon graduating, I moved back to Massachusetts, where I began two back-to-back stints as a long-term 4th grade substitute teacher in separate classrooms within the same school. I spent the 2011-2012 school year as an Inclusion Specialist in the Cambridge Public Schools, supporting learners in grades 5-8, both in and out of the general education classroom. I began as a sixth grade classroom teacher at the Wood School in 2012, and I joined the Grade 4 team in 2013. After two years back in sixth, I am now beginning my first year at the Jackson School as a Grade 3 teacher! I feel lucky to to be a part of the team of wonderful teachers and staff at the Jackson School, and I am looking forward to an exciting year on the Grade 3 team!
     
     
     Mission for the Class 
        
       As the students and I journey through Grade 3, we will connect with the world, explore what it has to offer, and embrace a shared love of learning. With state and national frameworks as our guides, we will practice skills, push ourselves, and have fun doing it. Our classroom is a safe place to work collaboratively with each other, give our personal best, and become more independent learners each and every day.
