    When you are finished reading the story, tell someone about it! What happened at the beginning? What happened in the middle? How did the story end? Do you think this story could really happen? Why or why not?

    1) Parents/Guardians, we have been reading articles from Newsela to help grow our "schema", which means "background knowledge". Research shows us that we are not able to fully comprehend a text if we have no background knowledge about the subject matter. We have been reading these short articles each day to add to our schema. 

    Students, just as we do in our group, please read one article per day (up to 3 per week) to yourself. Then write a few facts you learned in the online Book of Knowledge.
