Hello!  This week, please complete the three activities below. You can finish them in one day or stretch them out over the week, it's up to you!

    1) Click the word work activities below:

Complete the “L Blend” sort – read each word as you sort them under the correct blend

    2) Click here for a list of High Frequency/ Trick Words.

These words often don’t follow the rules so they can’t just be sounded out – they need to memorized. Practice by reading and spelling these words in different ways – like sidewalk chalk, write in the sand, build with magnets, etc. We will add to this list each week!

    3) Click here to read Amazing Beaches. You can read it online or print it out to make your own book.

This week, we are reading a nonfiction book about beaches around the world. When you are finished reading it, talk to someone about what you have read. How are all beaches the same? How are some beaches different from each other? Write down some words you think of when you think of being at the beach. For example, I think of "sun", "sand", "shells". Practice reading these words!

Great job, friends! I can see which students read a few of the articles from last week and have added the sentences you wrote to the "Class Book of Knowledge". Can you see your entries? If not, I will try to send you all the "Class Book of Knowledge" when we finish the packet this week?

For this week, please complete both of the activities below:

    1) Last week, you read one (or two or three!) articles from the packet. This week, please read three more articles (one per day). Then write a few facts you learned in the online Book of Knowledge.

    1. Go to www.readworks.org/student

Note: Students can change their passwords when they log in, and you can change student passwords on this page.

    2) Click here to send an email to Mrs. Wright and tell her about one of your favorite articles that we read together. What do you remember about it? Why was it interesting to you?
