Hello, friends! I hope you enjoyed the sunny weekend!

This week, we are going to focus on beginning "r" blends, such as tr-, br-, dr-, cr- and pr-, practice reading our sight words and read a funny story. 

I hope I will see each of you on our Zoom call on Wednesday! I have sent an email to your parent with the details you need to join me!

 Let's practice our skill from last week- R blends

1) Click the here to view or print a page of pictures that begin with an "r" blend.  If you print the page, please write the beginning "r" blend that goes with the picture. If you can't print the page, just point to each picture and say the "r" blend out loud!

2) Click here for a list of all second grade sight words. You may not know all of these words, but I bet you can read many of them. Ask someone near you to help you with the words that are new to you. Read each row of words as quickly as you can. Test yourself to see if you can read them faster and faster!

Let's read a story!

3) Click here to read a funny story called Click, Cluck and Quack! This story is about a cricket and will help you practice your fluency.  You can listen to it while you read along or read it without the audio. Please send Mrs. Wright an email and tell me if you thought it was funny. Why or why not?

 Hello, friends! I hope enjoyed last week's story, "My Life hasn't Changed".

This week, we will continue to focus on comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. 

We will read another passage from Readworks.org called "Monkey Business". The passage is a nonfiction text about monkeys who are causing problems where they live. Before you read it, make a prediction - what type of problems do you think the monkeys are causing? 

We will discuss this passage during our Zoom call on Wednesday! See you there!
