2nd Grade
Hello, friends! Welcome to week 9 of our virtual learning!
This week, we are going to practice our sight words and read two new stories. We will review one of our stories during our Zoom call on Wednesday. See you there!
Let's practice our sight words!
1) Click here for a list of all second grade sight words. You may not know all of these words, but I bet you can read many of them. Ask someone near you to help you with the words that are new to you. Read each row of words as quickly as you can. Test yourself to see if you can read them faster and faster! Next week, we will use flip grid so you can record yourselves reading the words and impress your friends (and me!)
Let's read two stories!
2) Click here for the login screen for our class. Then you can bookmark the page so you can easily get to the login screen each week.
Find your name and click on it. Enter your password. I have emailed your parents your password and it will be the same each week. You should now see your personal screen. I made this one for my daughter, Caroline.
Look carefully - how can you tell that it is her own screen?
Now click on the purple planet called "Reading".
You will see this screen
Click on the little space ship called "My Assignments"
You will now see your reading page. The assigments I have given you are at the bottom of the page.
You can see that Caroline has read Click, Cluck and Quack because the little book emoji is green and has a check next to it. The other books have black and white emojis. Caroline needs to read them!
This week, please read All about Kites and Bonk's New Bike.
This weekend was very windy - do you think that would make it easier or harder to fly a kite? Please send Mrs. Wright an email and tell me what you think!

3rd Grade
Hello, friends! I hope you had a nice week! Did you make a card for someone in your life for Mother's Day? You may find it funny that my three children each made me a funny Tik Tok, rather than a card. There are lots of ways to show people you care!
This week, we will continue to focus on comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. We will read two stories from Learning A-Z. One of them has a Reader's theater and we will do that together during our Zoom call on Wednesday!
We will be reading two stories this week. Here are the directions for accessing your account:
Click here to go to the student login page. You will see a screen that looks like this:
Find your name and click it. You will now see the screen for your password. (I have emailed your parents with your passwords, which will be the same each week.)
You will be brought to your student home page. Scroll to the bottom and click the purple button at the bottom of the page which says Reading Assignments.
You will now see your Reading assignment page:
This week, we will read Aesop's Fables and Ocean Animals. Please answer the questions at the end of each book. You will get special points for reading and responding and I will be able to see your progress. Enjoy!
